Take Three | Reading

I saw a cute idea on my friend's blog where she takes 3 photos representing what each member of her family likes/does/etc. I wanted to play along so here we go! :)

1. His | Brendan isn't big on reading but he does love his wheelin' magazines.

2. Mine | I love my Nook and I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I'm currently on book #10 and once finished I will be all caught up and will have to wait until March 2013 for the next one! Oh, the agony!

3. Hers | Kaleigh is obsessed with the Dear Dumb Diary series. She loves checking them out from the school library and wishes our town library carried them.

Font Junkie

I absolutely love fonts! And being a digi scrapper I use them often. I have a ton in my collection but I find myself often going back to certain ones for my projects. I thought I would share my top 10 (in no particular order) favorite fonts with you. :)

Cloche Love!

I absolutely love cloches! They are so fun to showcase little displays and you can change them out with the seasons/holidays.

I've made a few recently and wanted to share. :)

I can't remember where I got this glass cloche but I've had it for a while now. I found the plate in a thrift shop and I bought the wooden candlestick years ago. They fit perfectly together to form the base. Inside is a weathered terra cot pot I bought in an antique store. Inside the pot is moss with an antique floral frog sitting on top. The photo is of my grandparents' home (that they still live in today - many happy memories there!)

Here are the supplies I used to create my next cloche... an old enamelware plate (antique store), a metal urn (thrift shop), a wire basket (flea market), and a knob (Hobby Lobby).

I attached the plate to the top of the urn and spray painted so they'd match and then I distressed the edges to bring the black back through. I hot-glued the knob to the bottom of the basket. I found a little mercury glass bird in an antique shop. I sat him in a bed of moss inside the cloche.

And lastly, I bought this cloche with its base at Hobby Lobby (it's quite large - about 12-15" tall). I wanted to put a stand underneath it to give it more height and character. I searched thrift shops for chunky candlesticks but couldn't find any. I ended up finding this chunky candlestick at Ikea.

I hot-glued the base of the cloche to the candlestick and spray painted them black. I made the terra cotta pot with eggs a while back (painted/distressed the terra cotta pot; put moss inside; painted some paper mache eggs a robin's egg blue). I found the little bird at Hobby Lobby.

I absolutely love all 3 of them and have supplies to make a few more. Can you have too many cloches in your home? I hope not! ;)
